Are you looking to get pampered on your vacation? Spas in Victoria BC may be exactly the type of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation that you crave. But first, understanding the treatments and services provided will help ensure you choose the right one for you. Not all spas in Victoria BC are created equal!

Typical treatments in a day spa include manicures and pedicures, massages, facials, waxing, electrolysis and exfoliation. Some businesses may also offer services such as reflexology, acupressure, physiotherapy, hair cutting, colouring and styling, aromatherapy and body wraps. Many spas are located on hotel property but not all are.
A medical spa – sometimes abbreviated to medi-spa – differs from a day spa in that they offer generally more comprehensive non-surgical medical aesthetic treatments. This can include things like acne or rosacea treatments, laser hair removal, laser skin peels, skin tightening, body wraps and many more. There are several medical spas in Victoria including the Nivali Skin & Laser Clinic at Hotel Grand Pacific.
Hotel spas in Victoria BC generally offer similar services to a day spa with the addition of facilities such as a sauna, whirlpool, steam room or pool. They put an emphasis on health, rejuvenation, well-being and relaxation and are conveniently located on the hotel property. Hotel spas are usually open to the general public in addition to hotel guests.
These facilities exist for the sole purpose of providing luxurious pampering with a focus on overall health and wellbeing. Guests can expect a calm and relaxing environment with all activities centered on the spa experience. Packages may include elements such as diet and exercise programs, life coaching, yoga and Tai Chi. I am unaware of any spas in Victoria BC that would qualify as a true destination spa.
